Die Lebenslagen der Flüchtlinge, die Deutschland erreichen, sind sehr unterschiedlich, gemeinsam ist ihnen jedoch meist, dass sie sich, verglichen mit ihrem gewohnten Umfeld, in einem gänzlich fremden befinden und auf deutsche Bürger treffen, bei denen wenig Bewusstsein und Verständnis für die syrische Kultur vorliegt. Mit dem Ziel des kulturellen Austausches wird das Institute for Cultural Diplomacy eine Reihe von informierenden und bildenden Veranstaltungen anbieten, in denen die syrische Kultur zelebriert werden wird. The Certificate Program in the Implementation of Cultural Diplomacy through the Arts, Music & Cinema is comprised of specialized courses designed to provide participants with core knowledge in the field of Cultural Diplomacy, with a special emphasis on the use of the arts, music and cinema as methods of cultural diplomacy. The program combines both theory and practical case studies from a wide variety of fields, such as international relations, diplomacy, the humanities, and culture. The program provides a thorough analysis of a diverse selection of cultural diplomacy institutions and the application of cultural diplomacy in the framework of foreign policy, domestic policy and multiculturalism. The 2015 Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy aims to present all practices that the field of cultural diplomacy has to offer to the international community for their application to try to remedy and solve growing global challenges. The conference will bring together leading politicians, religious leaders, senior academics and celebrated artists together with representatives from areas of conflict in order to establish new institutions and initiatives that will help with these challenges using the practice of cultural diplomacy together with other practices and means.
